Not sure what you are asking but if it's why do I check my email provider's web-based interface first, there are 2 reasons:

1. For POP accounts, Eudora/Thunderbird will not check or download from the email provider's Spam "folder" so I want to check the email provider's Spam "folder" using the email provider's web-based email interface to move any legitimate email to the email provider's web-based interface Inbox and delete any spam from the email provider's web-based interface Spambox.

2. For IMAP accounts Eudora/Thunderbird will download any email in the email provider's Spam "folder" but I don't want to download any email in that the email provider has flagged as spam to my own system. By using to the email provider's web-based interface email interface, I can check the email provider's web-based interface Spambox, move any legitimate email that has been flagged as spam out of the email provider's web-based interface Spambox and delete any remaining emails (actual spam) in the email provider's web-based interface Spambox so that it never downloads off the server to my system. I check the email provider's web-based interface Inbox to make sure all the email there is legitimate--if it's not I move to the email provider's web-based interface Spambox and delete it.


Basically, by using the email provider's web-based interface, I can delete any email I don't want before it downloads from the server to my system.
