Default Quark Bundles

Got an marketing email this morning not from Quark, but from Xchange International (ever heard of them?) They are offering this:

Receive a companion product worth up to £129 — at no additional charge — when you purchase a new QuarkXPress 7 license!

This includes offers such as 40 OpenType founts from Linotype worth £800, ID2Q 7 to convert InDesign files to Xpress format and so on.

What really caught my eye however was:

Also available from XChange International
Now considering most Win XP users will buy a PC with a pre-loaded copy of XP and Mac users likewise, does this make much sense as a bundle deal????

Even "oddball users" like myself who decide to build their own PC will purchase a copy Win XP OEM, say with a piece of hardware like a mouse.

I remember seeing ads bundling QuarkXpress with Freehand. This made a lot of sense. Of course, not even thinkable now Adobe have their hands on Freehand. Unless Quark wants to purchase it from Adobe, but thats another topic...;-)

Would it not be better to bundle CorelDraw X3 or Xara???
