Yes, folks you can pop over to http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx and download the "final" release of Internet Explorer 7 - as long as you use Windows XPSP2, XP Pro 64 or one of the Windows Server 2003 versions. This will be included in Windows updates next month.
If you need/want to keep using IE6 then you are advised to use this regfix. There is also a patch to enable IE7 to announce itself as IE6 for those IE6 user agent specific sites which have not yet been updated! __________________ Kelvyn Web site design, hosting and marketing, Keswick in the UK Lake District If you are planning a visit to Keswick then try Keswick Tourist Information website |

There are some bug fixes in the final version, but I don't think any of them are real problems. I do wonder how the updater will get the job done if a beta is installed, as it will be expecting to find IE6....

I tried installing the new version over the top of RC1 - no problem, it automatically uninstalled RC1 before installing itself. Took a while to do, with two restarts. The installer also installs and runs the MS Malicious Software Removal tool!

I've got the Malicious Software tool, but perhaps this is still another improvement of it. __________________ Michael |

It found shreds of IE6, perhaps? ;-) __________________ Steve Rindsberg ==================== www.pptfaq.com www.pptools.com and stuff |

I installed IE7 a couple of days ago. Just getting used to its new look. Seems to download pitures quicker than IE6.
