Default PagePlus & Word recognize Unicode

I have just installed PagePlus 11 and am delighted to discover that it recognizes (like Word 9) any Unicode glyph that is available in the font used. FrameMaker 7.1 has never heard of Unicode, and even InDesign 3 won't recognize a glyph if its code is in the PUA.

PagePlus 11 appears to have other virtues that I haven't investigated yet, but for a £100 program it seems pretty good.
