Surviving Microsoft's new Windows Update
Woody Leonhard's article "How to prepare for the Windows 7/8.1 ‘patchocalypse’ " outlines the pros, cons, possible user options on Microsoft's new Windows update for Windows 7/8/8.1 users.
Additionally, there is a lengthy discussion in the "Ask Woody" comment section that might be worth a read... As I've noted before on my systems, I have set Windows Update to "never", "Windows Update Service" is set to "disabled" and (using gpedit) "Prevent Windows Anytime Upgrade" is set to "enbabled"...'-}} Terrie |
