For the opera fans among us, take a look at this:
"Met Player, the company’s new online streaming service, will be available for free as a special promotion for the entire weekend of May 1–3. Beginning at 5 pm ET on Friday, May 1, all visitors to metplayer.org will enjoy free and unlimited access to more than 200 full-length operas—including 20 performances from the first three seasons of the Met's award-winning Live in HD series. The offer ends at midnight on Sunday, May 3. " Read the rest at http://www.metoperafamily.org/metope...h.aspx?id=8614 . I've given notice that I will be incommunicado from 5 p.m Friday until midnight Sunday as I watch as many videos as I can fit into that time. I suppose I'll have to sleep for a few hours and I'll change locations between my home office with the large monitor and my living room, where I can use my laptop in my rocker with my feet up. Now I'm going through the catalog, noting what I want, and trying to figure out how to fit 100+ hours of what I want to watch into 55 hours minus 8 hours for sleeping! The Met Player isn't available for Linux (I've already complained and will do so again), so I'll have to hunker down with Windows. Met Player also works with Mac OS X. --Judy M. __________________ Registered Linux User #397786 Being productive with VectorLinux 7 Standard |
