While I consider myself very proficient at CSS, I still have a lot to learn. Here's what I need to do.
I'm trying to place text to the left of an image and I want the text to be centered vertically in relation to the image. I couldn't figure out vertical-align so, for now, I did it the old fashioned way with a 2 cell table. But I really want to keep this site as tableless as possible. The current page is at capitalpride.org. (scroll to the bottom of the page) I'm guessing the CSS for this is probably simple, but not having used vertical-align before I'm not quite sure how it applies. It didn't work in a simple <div> wrapped around the text and image. On a related note, I figured out why clear-left and clear-right have never worked for me; but as I get closer to the concept, I couldn't get similar results in IE and Firefox so I'll save that question for later. On a side note, I'm using Google Analytics on my Capital Pride site (if you haven't looked into GA, the stats are AMAZING). My Pride site is NOT a magnet for web geeks and still is getting over 30% of the traffic from Firefox and less than 60% for IE. Safari is a respectable 10-15%; don't remember offhand. And I was rather shocked to see I've been getting 2,000 visitors a day since setting up GA this weekend.) Dennis __________________ Dennis |
