Joomla! forum reaches 100,000 members
The number of sites based on the Joomla! CMS is increasing at a terrific rate, and the member support and discussion forum has signed up its 100,000th member. With more than 1,200 posts daily it is one of the busiest forums on the web. It is also a great community, where users can compare notes and discuss any issues with developers. That's one of the great features of open source.

The split was some 18 months ago, in September 2005. Of course, most of the initial membership were former Mambo users who were concerned about the apparent commercialisation of Mambo and the restrictions suddenly imposed on developers, but I don't think anyone could have predicited the rate of growth with (curently) 172 new forum members signing up each day.
As well as the main Joomla! forums there is a large number of 3rd party developer forums, such as that for VirtueMart, a component I am involved with and use for several sites. The "official" 100,000 news release is here. __________________ Kelvyn Web site design, hosting and marketing, Keswick in the UK Lake District If you are planning a visit to Keswick then try Keswick Tourist Information website |
