PDF search speed
Hi,
As a copy-editor, I always get a PDF of a manuscript, along with the Word file or print-out. I use this for searches to ensure continuity of style, especially with a contributed volume. These searches are always very quick. BUT, I've just received a PDF where a search takes minutes (literally), and where moving from one instance of the searched-for term to another is very slow. These searches usually take just a few seconds. I have been back to the supplier and they insist that there is nothing different about this PDF. I have re-saved it, and used the Reduce File Size option, but it makes no difference. THis file is so slow as to be unusable. Any ideas as to why, or how I can speed things up? Thanks in advance, Adrian |
