Default Most popular ITC fonts (no surprise)

In Type Design Developments 1970 to 1985, a small book by L.W. Wallis, I found this list of the half dozen most popular ITC fonts:
  1. Souvenir (released 1970)
  2. Avant Garde Gothic (1970)
  3. Korinna (1974)
  4. ITC Garamond (1975–77)
  5. Benguiat (1979)
  6. Tiffany (1974)
Four were based on 19th or early 20th-century originals: Souvenir (ATF 1914); Korinna (Berthold 1904); ITC Garamond (ATF 1917); and Tiffany, an amalgam of Ronaldson (MacKellar, Smiths and Jordan 1884) and Caxton (ATF 1904-ish; not at all like the Caxton in modern type libraries).

All exemplify the ITC credo of tall x-height and close letterfit.

So no surprises, but kind of interesting to have chapter and verse.
