Default Which e-reader

This isn't about publishing, but I think people might have some useful opinions about my question, and it's not unrelated, so here goes:

I'm thinking of getting my husband an e-reader. He's not likely to buy a lot of books from the typical sources of e-books. Primarily what he will be reading (studying) is in Hebrew and would be in pdf format (I don't know any publisher of the works he is interested in that does e-books.) He needs something that is VERY easy on the eye, and that does not require exceedingly precise fine motor control.

Any suggestions? Pros and cons of any of the products out there?
