Default PC malware fixing techniques

That's pretty amazing...

I spent 3.5 hours last week cleaning up my sister's laptop when she not only opened one of those stupid UPS spam emails but then compounded the error by clicking on the attachment! It took over her laptop, wouldn't allow Malwarebytes Antimalware to start, she couldn't get online and the malware kept popping up warning messages about spyware and malware on her laptop. It was a right royal mess...

Using her 2nd laptop, I was able to find a fix process and via a usb stick was able to get the fixes on to her problematic laptop, clear the crap and get MBAM to run which got rid of the malware...

I told her that if she ever does that again, she's on her own...'-}}
