Default Virtual Painter 5 (Windows)

Virtual Painter 5 is a program that attempts to transform photographs into natural media looks. I'm posting about it as an interesting alternative to GMX - PhotoPainter.

What makes Virtual Painter stand out is it doesn't simply apply strokes on top of a photo. It also changes color, contrast, patterns, and even shapes. It is probably the most transforming natural media tool one can buy.

But don't expect the holy grail of natural media simulation. It does not do convincing simulation. Instead, expect to find a tool that can be a lot of fun, and maybe useful on some pro projects.

If you test drive Virtual Painter 5, make sure you try the Embroidery effect on a large photo, and then zoom in to see the detail.
