Quite likely. And would provide a spare PC. And it could do print server duty and perform other tasks. On the down side, it wouldn't be plug and play.
Like an email server - yes, I was considering all that when I bought my "spare" box. Of course it would require some setup and testing (but I need the space first) but then I'd have an exactly tailored system.
