flemmingg: I will keep searching for a solution and post any useful findings here.

I've not experienced the missing address bar but then I rarely run more than one Explorer window at a time and I close the window when I've finished--never ever thought to copy/move files between Explorer window instances.

I've always wondered if the option Folder Options > View > Launch Folder Windows in a Separate Process plays a role in the vanishing address bar problem because if this option is NOT checkmarked, then there is only a single explorer.exe running and with the option checkmarked, then each Explorer instance has an associated explorer.exe running. How do you have this option set?

By the way...welcome to the forum...'-}}
