With the exception of Classic Shell which fixed the most annoying (to me) aspects of Win7's Explorer, I've never used any of the 3rd party Explorer replacements. I did download one that Steve (I think) recommended but can't remember the name of it but I never got around to trying it.

Do you currently use a replacement and if so, which one?

I don't use a replacement. But I'm interested in a powerful alternative. And this appears remove the need to have other programs. Like FTP, RAR, rename multiple files, convert graphic formats, synchronize folders, and scripted operations all within the same tool. Thing is, I already have a bunch of other tools. But I do like its flat display of subdirectories along with filtering. Not that I've tried it. I'm just looked at what it says.

I should go back and take a closer look at the description because it does sound quite useful...

One feature I could have used many times is its ability to add multiple folders.

Not guilty, yerroner. I've never been one to use Explorer replacements. You're probably thinking of Agent Ransack, a search app. Kicks sand in Windows Search's face.

Oh, and even more. Suppose you have a folder for every client, and under each folder you have routine folders like billing, archive, inbox, outbox. You can click one button and have it create all this. Or you can have it do twenty clients at once from a list you feed it.

Anyway, lots of power I no longer need. But maybe there is something in there I can use.

Here's the help file: http://www.gpsoft.com.au/help/opus11/index.html

Tsk.

Windows Search is actually quite powerful, if you take the time/trouble to find the docs for advanced search (which Windows Search itself is apparently incapable of finding ... Strike 1) and memorize them all (Strike 2). The UI strikes me (Strike 3) as clumsy too.

So I put the Agent on all of my computers.
