Default Das Keyboard sale

We've talked about keyboards and such before. After reading about Das Keyboard, I ponied up for one and liked it so much I immediately bought another, fearing that the company might go out of business. Luckily, no ... they still seem to be going strong. I got this in the email this evening, in case anyone's interested in getting one at a nice price:

"... our Clicky Experience and Soft Tactile Experience Model S Professional keyboards are available at a special price of $119 through Monday at 11:59pm."

"Need a precise feel with a satisfying click click? We recommend buying the Clicky Experience. Want a more quiet feel? Check out the Soft Tactile Experience."

I'm resisting the temptation...'-}}

I happened to flip the channel on the tv to QVC late yesterday afternoon/early evening when they were offering what looked to be fairly decent Dell laptops at a very good price (given my knowledge of Dell laptops and pricing) as their "special of the day". I even wrote down the order number and although the lure was strong, I was able to resist until it was too late--after midnight.

On an actually more serious note, I realized how difficult it must be for people to resist QVC and HSN because they lull you in to thinking "well, this is a really good deal and I could use this" pretty much no matter what it is that they are selling.

I really like the feel and sound of my keyboard ..... a Microsoft Digital Media 3000 !

Rather less expensive <s> I think I paid about $30 but they are not always around these days.

I paid $7 for my current keyboard...it's a clicky-clack but not as sophisticated and well made as the Das...'-}}

I go to a meeting at MS every year; while there, we visit the MS company store, where there's the Great Wall o' Keyboards. I check them all out but haven't yet found one with the feel I'm after. Not to say that there's anything wrong with them ... just that we don't have a meeting of the minds 'n fingers.

My daughter has one (the blank keycap version). I like the feel, but not the price. I am perfectly happy with Keytronic board. This one cost about $25. It is my second or third. The only thing wrong with the previous one was the PS2/ connector. My current motherboard only has USB and the PS/2-USB adapter is unreliable.
