Default Making the most of a spelling error

Sometime you get funny comments in forums and the like - especially when people comment of news stories. Mostly funny as in strange. Here someone at least hit the funny spot.

The article was about a car driving the wrong way on a busy highway, at least no-one got hurt in the end. Phew!

The advent of cell phones has made it much more difficult to tell whether the typist truly hasn't a clue how to spell or is merely a victim of autocorrect. One of my Droid keyboards (I have three!) defaults to "too" instead of "to" which is incredibly annoying to me. I'm aware of its M.O. so it rarely catches me out, but now I must concede the possibility that my friend on Facebook who always types "too" may merely be lazy about proofreading and not the terrible speller I thought he was. There are many other mistakes in his typing but they, too, could be uncorrected autocorrects.
