Shocked you didn't know! "There's an app for that." Thought for sure I'd mentioned reading Kindle books on my Droid in bed at night. (Didn't have a tablet then.) Still prefer the actual Kindle for daytime reading but it really is nice to be able to use my other devices when needed! I was going to leave the Kindle home and just take the tablet to Africa as my all-purpose device - got it all loaded up with a nice selection of books, too. But now I can use it as my nighttime reader instead of my Droid if I want.

Re: Kindle cookbooks ... have a few but always interested in recommendations. No rush, though, as I'm afraid it will be awhile yet before I can do much cooking. Surprised how much I'm missing it.
