What is the eventual goal of the book? If it is just for online use, or laser printing, the other solutions are acceptable. But if you plan to have the book printed on a press at some point, then you might want to move to a higher end tool like InDesign. Commercial printers often have problems printing efficiently from Word or lower end DTP programs.
