Default The Desert of Forbidden Art

The Desert of Forbidden Art is a documentary about an art collection that was established in Karakalpakstan during a period when the Soviet government forbade the display of much of the art work that ended up there. The museum was financed by local Soviet officials who bent the rules to help Igor Savitsky build this collection of 40,000 paintings.

This is the most interesting documentary I've seen in a long time. I highly recommend it. If you want to read about the actual collection, here's a link: http://www.savitskycollection.org/
