Default Anyone else thinking Ipad2?

I watched the release yesterday with interest. I think that I will probably spring for one later this year.

Am I the only one from this group?

I'll stick with version one and wait till there's a few other improvements (higher res screen, document-oriented filing system, better camera).

Noticed a reveiew that suggested it was more of an iPad 1.5 than and iPad 2. Still, if you don't already have an iPad 1...

I want one. Wanted one from the beginning but figured this one would be lots better. Not sure of that, but probably will go for it anyway.

I love my iPod Touch, but it has lots of annoying size-related limitations for my purposes. Figure the iPad will solve some of those.

I'd love one, but I'll wait until the next version (or the one after that.)

If they only were small computers, instead of large smartphones...

I thought seriously about getting one about four months ago, but reasoned that Apple tend to update yearly, and that would mean a March update. Good guess, and with the new features I'm glad I waited.

(But in Canada we have to wait another two weeks after the US for ordering ... which isn't bad compared to early devices, which came here months later, like the iPhone.)

I suspect that’s what we all want. But I think I want it sooner!

You’re probably younger than I am (I’ll be 70 next month).

A little bit, but I still remember when the world was in black and white! Or black and green when sitting in front of a computer.

Oh, yes — that sparkly green-on-black type, all caps (with inverted colors to indicate caps)! Those were [not] the days. It’s lucky we didn’t go blind.

I wrote a book on such a system, driving first an early Epson dot-matrix printer, and then (oh luxury) a daisywheel typewriter. I had to get the latter because the publisher didn’t accept computer-produced copy.

Yeah, and try submitting a book without computer media these days.
