Thankyou very much.
After decades of PC's and Windows. Last Christmas, I bought myself an iMac (Santa forgot to load one onto his sleigh, for me )
I use Open Office mainly, with Photoshop for graphics and text design. Although, I miss my Pageplus, which won't run on the iMac

Have you looked into Parallels or Fusion (both ways of letting you run a copy of Windows in what's called a Virtual Machine on your Mac)?

Actually, That was my next on my agenda. I will have to get Windows 7 though, as that would be the logical choice

I'm running Windows XP with Parallels on a MacBook Pro. I had the XP installer CD left over from an old defunct PC and it runs fine.

I actually have a copy of XP Pro, unopened. I might just use that, on the imac. But will get '7' to replace 'Vista' on both my laptops. Unless, of course, I suddenly get a whim to buy an iPad. In which case, the laptops will have to go.

I'm not using the old mac for much of anything but run quite a few Windows VMs under Windows using VMWare. XP SP3 seems to work fine for most things (Office 2010 included). Win7's been a happy camper too, but will be a bit more demanding of the underlying hardware, I expect. If I had XP lying around the house, I'd give it a go with that first, see if your software is happy there.
