It will bring them in and temporarily install them. PagePlus's PDF Import Options dialog lists the name and status of fonts used in the PDF as Installed, Substitute or Embed.
If a font’s Status is shown as Installed it is installed on the system in use.
If a font’s Status is shown as Substitute then it is not installed on the system in use or embedded in the PDF file, and therefore a suggested substitute font is used instead. The substituted font can be changed by clicking the Substitutions button.
If a font’s Status is shown as Embed then it is embedded in the original PDF but not installed on the system in use. While the publication is open it will be made available for use in that publication only, not in new publications or in other applications. If a font is embedded it will have a temporary prefix to distinguish it from other fonts.
The automatic font substitution in PagePlus uses the PANOSE Font Matching System to find the ‘best’ locally available alternative font.
