I'm not sure why, although it may be from reading the Colorsync Users list, but I would never expect a laptop screen to be a good choice for color critical work so I'm not surprised at your findings...

I'm glad you've still got your CRT as a backup...LCDs with decent color have come down quite a bit in price that it might be worth getting one and freeing up some desk space but you may need time to recover from the research and effort you put into getting your laptop first...'-}}

You could start a whole new thread "LCD Shopping"...'-}}
