Default Jim Rimmer, January 8, 2010

According to an obituary by Richard Kegler, multi-faceted type designer and type caster Jim Rimmer died last week. He was widely admired for his work and his generous spirit.

From ABC Book World listing for Memories from the Composing Room Floor (a trade edition of Rimmer’s earlier Leaves from the Pie Tree, which was mentioned in Richard’s obituary): “As a creator of 190 digital and seven metal typefaces, he is revered by the West Coast letterpress community.”

The obituary note includes biographical information and reminisces about Rimmer, whose fonts are available through P22. This forum post includes links to the Rimmer pages on that site.
