Default Quicken 2007 is dying

Quicken 2007 is dying. After April 30, 2010, it will no longer download transactions from banks or other financial institutions. Owners must upgrade to Quicken 2010, $39.99 for the basic version.

Of course, I was satisfied with Quicken 2004, and had to upgrade to Quicken 2007, and now to Quicken 2010. Every time I start the program, I get the notice that I must upgrade. The enhancements are meaningless to me, and the discounted software is of no use to me, either.

I suppose that new sales of Quicken are not all that great, so the company has to get $40 or more from existing users.
