You will need an adapter between the VGA cord and the Mac—The adapters come with the Mac, so the owner should have it. You may have to go into the DISPLAYS panel under SYSTEM PREFERENCES to set the projector to mirror the laptop's display—sometimes they are set to form a two-screen-wide virtual desktop. If the person who is doing the presentation does them regularly, they should know how to do this stuff.
