It was very odd indeed, but the Netgear tech chappie confirmed that the product wouldn't work across two different circuits (no mention of different phases) and that's put me right off the technology.

It's good to hear that Terrie's model works, and one day I might purchase the same model as hers when another client needs to extend their network further than Wifi.
