Default Font suit: Font Bureau vs NBC TV

According to the [New York] City File site, television networks of NBC used unlicensed (or inadequately licensed) fonts from Font Bureau to promote its fall TV show lineup — including the Jay Leno and Saturday Night Live programs.

Font Bureau is suing on grounds of trademark infringement for $2 million, claiming that the network paid for only a one-seat license (or didn’t pay at all) before using Bureau Grotesque, Interstate, and Antenna.

The City File article says it presumes that NBC will pay up rather than redo its fall TV ads.
