Default Moderating?

I noticed that the posts seem to be moderated now. I don't recall this being the case in the past. I didn't see that message when I posted, and when it wasn't clear that my post was successful, I re-posted (sorry about that). Is this something new? Or have I just been my usual unobservant self all these years?

Nope. We do not moderate as a general rule, but we do set a few snares in vB to prevent message spammers from succeeding. One of those seems to have caught you (though I haven’t figured out what is the cause here). I approved your post.

It is also possible that your message ran afoul of a problem we have been seeing recently that marks certain messages as moderated.

We will try to figure this out. It is time for another vB update, so maybe that (or the process of applying it) will clean out the gremlins.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Yanno, I was starting to think it might have been some security thing where the board perhaps thought I was trying some sort of injection with posting my php code samples.

Maybe, though we do allow the use of Code, the php may have thrown vB for a loop.

Hey Carl...I've approved your 2 moderated posts--left you a note about it in the thread with 2 posts.

I'm going to move your thread with the single post which appears to be a dup of the first post in your other thread to a holding area. If it is a duplicate, let me know and I'll delete it--if it's not, then I'll move it back from the holding area...

Terrie

It may be the use of $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] in the message text causing the flag.

Terrie, I'm pretty sure the post you're referring to is a duplicate. I thought it might be. I think kt approved my second copy, and I replied to it (which also got caught).

That sounds logical. We can test that — see if it is consistent.

Thanks.

I wanted to make sure before I deleted it which I've just done...
