Ugh, that sounds nasty. Hwy 1 here was clogging up in all directions this afternoon well ahead of "normal" Friday rush hour. I couldn't figure out what was going on till I remembered today is Friday, not Thursday, and of course it's a holiday weekend. We usually find in the summertime (barring holiday spikes) that traffic overall is increased on the highway but that rush hour traffic eases a bit with school out and people taking vacations from work. But come fall, there must be some folks who come for vacation and never leave because it sure seems that the traffic just ratchets up every year at summer's end. Sigh.
