Gee, if you and I are so helpful maybe we are eligible for a bailout, or at least a gold star!

It is happening to me during the day, often (most of the time, in fact) when I am present.

Drives normally sleep or rest, right? At first I figured I was hearing it spin up and that that was normal. But from comments here, it may be something else — especially as the alerts appear more frequently since even a week ago.

Nope, nothing. It just sits there adding heat to the room and backing up my hard drive every hour.

I currently have a bung cinema display (out of warranty), a bung TV (fortunately, I have an extended warranty for this) and a bung air conditioner that's nine years old and definitely will need replacing.

So when I get around to getting all these fixed, I will be doing my bit as well.
