That sounds a bit complicated. How would I do that if I knew that I'd never, ever, ever want to see anything from, say, doubleclick.net?

On the page in question I do see some ads, but no "scrolling" ads. At the bottom of the main content column I see a block of text ads (quasi-heading "Advertiser Links") which is filled with double-barreled scripts... but it's not really intrusive.
No, those are fine. I just can't abide things that move. The right hand sidebar has at the top a section called Editor's Choice. The ads under that do scroll... slowly... but I've just noticed that there's a Pause button, so I can live with that...;-)

The ones under the Promotions heading also scroll. They're the ones I was really referring to - but perhaps I wasn't too specific - and they're the ones coming largely from doubleclick.net and also the ones I can't stop.

I just wondered why it was that if I told Adblock to block anything from doubleclick.net - as I thought I had - then I shouldn't be seeing them.
