Default Can't open Mac file on PC

This is a rare problem ... I've got a Mac file I can't open on my PC, and Conversions Plus doesn't know what type of file it is.

Any Mac user(s) want to volunteer to try to open it for me? It's a small file, less than 1 MB.

It's a client's old job file, a one-page form. I need to make a minor revision to this form on Monday.

I've got a PDF of it, and in the description properties, it shows the name of a Word doc, but I can't open the file (not the PDF) in Word.

TIA,

mxh

If you can send it to me before 6am my time (GST + 10), I'm happy to give it a go. I have various colours of Word on Mac and PC.

The heat is off! It's an InDesign file, containing a placed PDF that was created from a Word file.

How silly of me not to have known that! <g>

Whew! I just returned a plain text version to you — your file showed up here as a Unix executable.

Same here, as I noted above. When I opened it in Word, I did notice the word 'InDesign' amongst the dross.

If a file loses (or lacks) a file extension, it's always worth opening it in a text editor (or Word, if you must). You can usually glean some info about the sort of file. JPEGs often start with "JFIF", for example.
