You have to watch out for what in the UK are Statutory Instruments; it is illegal in the UK to sell almost anything in Imperial (silly name!) units except draught beer and bottled milk. The beer & milk rule is more or less justified, since the are sold in pints; the nearest metric unit is half a litre, but that is somewhat less than a pint, and would cause the trade a loss of custom if draught beer and milk were sold in litres. The Act legalizing Imperial units is still in force, but its scope is now almost nil.
