Seems to me that a single second isn't really worth that much by itself. Rather than just give a single second to each person on earth why don't they set up a second trading scheme - rather like the carbon trading scheme - so that we can sell our seconds to the highest bidder?

I'm sure that would increase the value of our seconds as there's bound to be some rich git who would want to buy them.

A second trading market would also give a great boost to the economy.
