Apple figured if the problem happened within the 3 years total, it was their problem. If it happened 3 years and a day later, it was ours. We'd already had the computer long enough we'd gotten our money's worth out of the PS. So those not buying Apple Care got the credit. There's also a video/monitor problem many experience, and they cover that for the first 3 years. A lot of people naturally don't experience it until the 3 years are up. Then we're supposed to buy a new computer<G>
