This method certainly discriminates against those who cannot see the photographs, and even if we just forget for a moment that an auditory CAPTCHA has its own problems, it does not even lend itself to an auditory alternative (unless you think listening to nine different longdescs would qualify - which I don't).

There are plenty of accessible ways to weed out the bots, including ways that humans won't even notice but trip up the bots. Die, CAPTCHA, die!

(Working on implementing those "plenty of accessible ways" for Xaraya and Wikka wiki...)
