Ah: I was under a misapprehension. I thought it allowed you to quote each para in a single message separately, so you could answer points one by one. No wonder my "suck it and see" approach didn't work! D'oh, as Homer would say.

As Marjolein says, I have to resort to bbcode codes for what I need. And as she also says, quoting from several messages makes a nonsense of threading, so not sure why you can do it at all.
