I am always partial to separate devices, not liking all eggs in one basket.... I am also partial to laser printers for business output. They simply cost less per page printed than any inkjet. My primary printer is an HP 1320. The color printer (an Epson) is off most of the time. I think my Epson scanner is better than any in an AIO.

That said, some of current AIO seem to work well. Brother makes one line that uses a bw laser engine. You have lots of choices.
