Default Typographica's top typefaces of 2007

Steven Coles announces that “Our Favorite Typefaces of 2007” has been posted. You can view the thumbnails at his Typographica site (and link to larger displays). The large specimens are very useful, but it is also interesting to take a few minutes to study the thumbnails.

The lists from the prior three years are also linked to at the bottom of the screen.

They're all very pretty, but I can't see myself actually using any of them.

Spiekermann’s Miniscule looks useful for web work.

The others mostly look like advertising faces. Nice if you go in for that sort of thing.

Yes I suppose, but I try to use text in web work rather than text converted to graphics.

That seems a rather selective view, since at least a third the typefaces were designed for books or newspapers, and that's counting only the seriffed ones.
