Default Red-White Paper

I just bought some Red-White paper, 24lb., smooth finish, Carnival Writing by Smart Paper. (It's smart because it's 50% recycled. Apparently, this company is highly rated for quick printing, having outlets all over North American and Australia.)

I really like this paper. It reads real smooth. When I looked at it at the store, it had a heavy red tint. I thought how strange, but I had a feeling about it, and I thought maybe, the red was coming out due to the bright store lights. So coming home, sure enough, under normal lighting -- no red. But holding 100 sheets together shows some red on the edges.

I'm going to try some stuff with this, and maybe, tomorrow I'll buy some more. But does anyone know what the red tint is about???
