I allowed the automatic update on my Vista laptop, and got the dreaded Chrome registration problem.

An uninstall and new install fixed it. But when I used Opera to get the new version, it told me it needed to be updated, so the whole thing took far longer than I was prepared to take. I was only using Firefox to check my work e-mail via the web, which I can no longer do from any browser on the Mac.
