I actually quite like ACDSee. I even bought the upgrade to version 9 but haven't been able to get it to import my version 7 db yet. It says it was created with an older version! Doh!!

...but that's another story. It did, however, get me to wondering whether I'm spending time and effort only to get locked into a proprietory database format.

From what you say about TP and Imatch, there just doesn't seem to be an obvious front-runner but I'll just need to keep looking...
