Default Anti-Virus w/o Internet

Is it possible to have anti-virus protection without a connection to the Internet? I have a Win98 computer which I am not connecting to the Internet, but still I put floppy disks and CD's into this computer, so there is at least some risk of virus infection from elsewhere. Maybe my virus protection on the three WinXP computers is sufficient, though, and I can check any floppy or CD from elsewhere there before putting it in the Win98 computer.
