There's no problem with that at all: just download and instal the Safari (beta); it doesn't affect your previous settings. Like you, I chose FireFox as my regular browser, and just have Safari to try out.

Safari does work better insofar as it reveals a much wider Quick Reply window here, but it compensates for that by making the text much smaller than I like.
