Looking at the new features, it seems that this is an entirely new piece of software, using the Paint Shop Pro registered trademark name. There is a 30 day trial period, so perhaps I might try it. Especially appealing is the concept that I could lighten or rotate many different pictures in a folder without picking up and putting down each one in turn, something I do with some frequency with real estate house pictures.

PSP X2 is US$99.99 or $59.99 as an upgrade, but I may be to far back for an upgrade. Worse, upgrades generally remove the old version, something I don't want to happen. Still, these prices are modest compared with Adobe Photoshop CS3, US$649 on their web site.

I would not buy an upgrade from PSP 8, especially since I bought PSP 6 on eBay, after finding many features that I liked gone in the upgrade to PSP 8.
