Default Future Cumulus/CS3 integration

This one caught my attention. Canto plans to use the Adobe Version Cue SDK to integrate its Cumulus digital asset management software with Adobe CS3 products. In addition to the advantage of integration, this also means that employees without CS3 products can use the same interface (Cumulus) and access the same digital management system.

I think Adobe is smart to provide an SDK for this kind of integration. And it will be interesting to see how well Canto does with this.

The idea of being able to trawl through volumes of images using Bridge over TCP/IP is very appealing, not the least being given better control over who plays with what, or not.

It looks like Canto has woken up to the fact that there is life after Quark in a Cumulus world.

And not just Canto; there are several others planning to use it.

Wonderfully succinct statement!

Extensis Portfolio perhaps? I have a chunk of art already cataloged in Porfolio -- over 5,000 images -- and I'd sure hate to start over from scratch with that lot.

I don't know the exact details, but Adobe's Gary Cosamini showed us a slide the other day, and Extensis was listed as one of the vendors involved. So I'd take that as a highly likely.
