The thumb drive was formatted to work on PC and Mac. I deleted the Library with help from Adobe. They did tell me this was a drastic measure, and normally a step would be to archive files before you do this (and I'm sure other stuff too), but since I didn't have anything to archive we made it through o.k. We also deleted my old user login and created a new one. The computer started locking me out and I was unable to log-in.

I don't know what I was doing previously trying to get AdobeInDesign to work, maybe I was looking for the program on the Dock and it wasn't there...I don't remember, I would just click on an icon and the file would never open. Now it's working fine. I added the InDesign icon to the dock, so maybe there's not a problem with InDesign.

I have noticed another problem -- My PageMaker files which I pulled over to the OS X from OS 9 is corrupting the files similar to the way it was doing the PS fonts I was trying to put on the OS X -- I'd drag them over, but the icon was showing me those stinkin' gray boxes with the word exec in them (evidently, this means the file is corrupted). I can pull these over the network and load them onto the OS X hard drive and it works fine. I need to call Adobe and see what's up with this. I have a loner mac mini because the first one had to be sent back for repairs -- heard back there was nothing wrong with it.

There is another employee out of state that bought himself a mac mini. He had the same exact problems that I had with the Adobe PS fonts that I had. I copied off all the fonts I loaded on the OS X and will be sending those to him soon. He could never get the fonts to work right on his computer, too -- and we've both been frustrated to no end with all of this. Both of us are in the process of switching from Adobe PageMaker to InDesign. It's been a nightmare going from OS 9 to OS X.
